Neymar reveals private messages he sent to Gianluigi Donnarumma after Champions League exit

Neymar has posted messages between himself and his PSG team-mate Gianluigi Donnarumma, after a report emerged claiming the pair were due to be separated on Wednesday night.

On what was another traumatic Champions League night for PSG, who lost 3-2 to Real Madrid at the Bernabeu after leading 2-0 on aggregate, questions were once again posed to the French staff.

According to many observers, one of the main culprits behind the last 16 defeat was Donnarumma, who was mainly responsible for Benzema’s first goal – and Real Madrid.

His reluctance to clear the ball eventually allowed Benzema to shoot from close range, which inspired Los Blancos to a truly historic comeback, just at a time when all hope seemed lost for the hosts.

This mistake, Marca alleges, that’s what made Neymar so furious in the dressing room after the game. The Italian stopper could hardly be blamed for the next two goals which ultimately cost PSG, but according to the Spanish outlet, it was Donnarumma whom Neymar faced in the aftermath.

However, following the publication of the report, the 30-year-old took to Instagram to dispute the claim that he and Donnarumma had to be physically separated.

In a series of WhatsApp messages, Neymar appears to offer support and consolation to his despondent teammate.

Donnarumma wrote, “Sorry for yesterday. This information is unacceptable.”

To which Neymar replied: “My friend! Don’t worry, it can happen in football. We are a team and we are with you. You are very young and you are going to win a lot of titles. Get up and let’s go”. move on! Friendship. »

The Brazilian also called reporters who claimed he and Donnarumma were involved in a fight in the locker room over his instagram story.

Donnarumma may have to get back into Mauricio Pochettino’s good books as former Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas is likely to be recalled this weekend.

PSG currently lead Ligue 1 by 13 points, with impressive Nice, who beat them last weekend, in second place.
