World Vision examined Google search data for the 100 most read Bible verses country by country.
Globally Jeremiah 29:11 and Philippians 4:13 came in a distant tie for second.
Jeremiah 29:11: ‘For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to make you prosper and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Philippians 4:13:: I can do all this through the One who gives me strength (NIV).
They were followed by John 10:10: The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it fully (NIV).
Rounding up the top five was Proverbs 3:5: Trust the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own understanding (NIV).
In Australia Joshua 1:9 was the second most popular search.
It reads: Didn’t I command you? Be strong and brave. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, because the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go (NIV).
Just behind was Jeremiah 29:11 followed by Romans 8:28: And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose (NIV).
