Chelsea defender Thiago Silva is charging fans £300 for personalized messages despite earning a reported £95,000-a-week at Stamford Bridge.
Silva, 37, made himself available on video messaging site Cameo, which allows fans to order personalized messages such as birthday wishes to their favorite celebrities.
Brazil international Silva charges fans £300 per message, while his corporate fee is £11,250.
Some fans have wondered why Silva would need the extra income, given his massive salary at Chelsea.
A fan said The sun“Why isn’t earning £95,000 a week enough for him? What a joke.
“If he’s so desperate for money, maybe he should ask Roman Abramovich for Russian rubles before quitting.”
However, other fans have thanked Silva for posting, with the Chelsea star already receiving a number of five-star customer reviews on the site.
One review read: “Thank you so much, love you. You are the best player I have seen wearing the Chelsea top.
“My team will use it to motivate themselves. You are the best!! Again, I really appreciate that, thank you and take care, champ.
Brazil internationals Marquinhos and Willian are also available for hire, while Silva’s Chelsea team-mate Jorginho is also listed on the site but is not currently taking message enquiries.
Silva joined Chelsea on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in 2020 and made 66 appearances for the club, scoring five times.
He was rewarded with a new contract extension in January after helping Chelsea win the Champions League the previous season.
Silva is now under contract with the west London club until the end of the 2022-23 campaign.
