There is no debating who the top two senior scholars at Ripon Christian High are.
Those honors went to Macclaira Camper and Raegan Moret.
Coincidentally, they were top of this year’s RC Speech & Debate team.
Both had 4.1 GPA.
Camper was valedictorian at last week’s graduation ceremony at the RC gymnasium while Moret was honored as a salutatorian.
The annual debut drills were a fitting finale for Camper, Moret and the rest of the Class of 2022.
“For most of us, we’ve been (in RC schools) since kindergarten,” said Camper, who is Marina and Tom Camper’s daughter.
She knows the next step after graduation will be on her own. Camper will attend Stanford University in the fall, intending to major in human biology.
“I will go from a (graduating) class of 34 to a campus with thousands of students,” she said.
In addition to Speech & Debate, Camper also played softball for the Knights.
She is the founder of the Environmental Club as well as other clubs on campus – Daughters of the King Bible Studies, History Club, Friday Morning Bible Studies, to name a few.
“I know college will be an adjustment. But I’ll do it with my core values,” Camper said, thanking his parents and the RC community for instilling his strong religious beliefs.
Moret, who is the RC Class of 2022 Salutatorian, has similar religious beliefs and core values.
She will attend Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, leaning toward nursing.
Raegan Moret, who is the daughter of Kriste and Randy Moret, has been in RC since her preschool days.
She has been involved in several high school clubs, including Daughters of the King Bible Studies, College Prep, Close Up Club, Environmental Club, History Club, and Friday Morning Bible Studies.
