Britney Spears’ latest Instagram video has fans worried, with some believing she’s sending a secret signal ahead of her next court appearance.
The 39-year-old former child star could be seen dancing to Billie Eilish in the video, which she filmed herself. Dressed in a red top and shorts, she danced to the hit song in her home, awaiting her next conservatorship hearing tomorrow.
Sharing the video with her 31.4 million fans, Britney captioned the post: “RED!!!!”
But while it may seem innocent at first glance, fans interpreted the video differently, with many believing the troubled star was calling for help.
Concerned followers question the video, with one saying, “Doesn’t ‘red’ mean anything?”
Another commented: “Red is a sign.”
While someone else asked, “Does red mean code red??”
Earlier this month, a judge denied Britney Spears’ request to remove her father Jamie from his guardianship.
Despite the pop star’s emotional and explosive testimony, court documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court revealed that the Spears patriarch will remain on the court ruling for the time being.
The documents state, “The registrar’s request to suspend James P. Spears immediately upon the appointment of Bessemer Trust Company of California as sole registrar of the estate is dismissed without prejudice.”
Britney’s lawyer, Samuel Ingham IIIrequested in November last year that Jamie be removed from conservatorship.
He cited the 39-year-old’s fear of her father and stressed that she would never perform live again if he remained on the legal link.
Judge Brenda Penny denied Jamie’s eviction request and instead appointed financial firm Bessemer Trust as co-custodian..
The documents most recently filed in the Supreme Court are just a formality confirming Bessemer Trust as a co-curator, but it also cemented the fact that Jamie will not be removed despite the damning testimony.
He added that Britney still appears “substantially incapable of managing her financial resources or resisting fraud or undue influence.”
This contradicts what the 39-year-old said in her damning 23-minute testimony.
But since the first judgment, another hearing date has been set for tomorrow (Wednesday, July 14).
Since the first hearing, big changes have taken place regarding Britney’s legal position.
Bessemer Trust, which was to take over as co-custodian of Spears’ estate, has asked to resign.
Britney’s court-appointed attorney, Sam Ingham, has also asked to resign, “effective upon the appointment of a new court-appointed attorney.”
Additionally, Britney’s mother, Lynne Spears, has also requested that Britney Spears be allowed to have her own private attorney.
