Alabama Football’s Class of 2022 Freshmen Don’t Look Like Freshmen

After falling to Georgia in a hugely exciting College Football National Championship in January, Alabama football is back on the field. The Crimson Tide started spring training on Monday and they have their sights set on a national title once again.

As is typical of Alabama, last year’s roster saw plenty of players head to the NFL or transfer to find playing time on a less busy roster elsewhere. And as is typical of the Crimson Tide, they reloaded.

Nick Saban and his team landed the No. 2 recruiting class in the nation this year. The class consisted of 25 prospects – three five-stars, 19 four-stars and three three-stars. All are very good.

Of the more than two dozen recruits, some of them chose to enroll early in Alabama for the opportunity to participate in spring training. Of those who did, three in particular don’t look like future high schoolers finishing their senior years.

In the tweet above, three players are featured.

  • #43 – Shawn Murphy
    • Four-star linebacker
    • 6 feet 2 inches, 224 pounds
  • #82 — Aaron Anderson
    • Four-Star Wide Receiver
    • 5 feet 9 inches, 184 pounds
  • #35 — Jérémie Alexandre
    • Five-star linebacker / EDGE rusher
    • 6 feet 2 inches, 258 pounds

Alabama’s spring training schedule will continue until April 16, when the Crimson Tide hosts its annual Spring A-Day game. This will give the larger-than-life freshman his first opportunity to perform at Bryant-Denny Stadium in front of a crowd.
