Bible Study on Hebrews Chapter 11: The Chapter on Faith
There are quite a few Bible verses on faith – just take a look at the 50+ listed below! But if you only had time to read one chapter of the Bible and wanted to focus on the scriptures on faith, Hebrews chapter 11 is the place to turn.
Here are some points from Hebrews 11 that we discussed in our small group:

Having “faith” in God means more than believing that he created the universe. Even demons believe there is a God, and they shudder at the idea according to James 2:19.
Our faith is an instrument by which we are justified by Christ. It is also the action by which a person receives the righteousness which comes through Christ (Rom 3:22 and Phil 3: 9).
For believers, faith is a way of life. In Hebrews chapter 11, the author gives us a brief history lesson highlighting the lives of these heroes of the faith. From Abel to Moses, including Abraham and David, these heroes and heroines of the faith lived with a sincere expectation to seek God and to grow in a relationship with Him.

Famous Bible passage on Faith and Deeds
One of the most talked about passages in the Bible regarding faith is James 2: 14-26. This passage deals with faith and good works (or faith and deeds).
James 2: 14-26
Faith and deeds
14 What good is it, my brethren, if a man claims to have faith but has no action? Can such faith save him? 15 Suppose a brother or sister has neither clothes nor daily food. 16 If any of you say to him, “Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed ”, but does nothing for his physical needs, what good is it? 17 Likewise, faith by itself, if not accompanied by action, is dead.
18 But someone will say, “You have faith; I have acts.
Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do. 19 You believe that there is only one God. Good! Even demons believe in it and shudder.
20 Foolish man, do you want proof that faith without deeds is useless? 21 Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see that his faith and his actions worked together, and his faith was supplemented by what he did. 23 And the scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed in God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God. 24 You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone.
25 In the same way, was not even Rahab the harlot considered righteous for what she did when she harbored the spies and sent them off in another direction? 26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.
